I agree Jezz. After one year's ownership I can't see myself wanting to sell, I'm thinking more that it'll need a rebuild in 10 years or so, especially since there are already small areas of corrosion in all the normal places. If I then spend £10-£15k on a rebuild I should think the car will then fetch pretty much what I paid for it, (£15k? I hope it won't cost that much). Good reason for having a classic, I think; if I consider the rebuild cost to equate to depreciation, I'll have paid the depreciation but I'll still have a valuable car. And with Big Brother trying to outlaw IC cars, I hope the existing population of cars will all appreciate. Not so with my ordinary car. That money has already gone up the chimney. However, who knows if the novelty will wear off or not?
