The mention of Gliffaes as a place to stay brings back many happy memories from the early 90's. We stayed there quite a few time in Autumn and Winter.
A slow breakfast, papers by the fire, a walk down the lane, a trip to Hay for some secondhand books, a seat by the fire in the afternoon (in time for afternoon tea being set out on the sideboard), a bath to ease away the strains of the day and down to the bar for a pre-prandial drink. Hope it hasn't changed too much - it was an utterly relaxing place to stay with a very friendly atmosphere.
