It has its naughty side. The other morning I was looking forward to a nice cuppa in bed only to be woken up with a phone call to say that a sail was flapping badly on the boat 😳. Kept out of bed and dashed down in rain and high winds to find a foresail was breaking loose. Like a wild animal to get hold of and get down.
No damage done but it did give me a bit of satisfaction to tell the part who is suspense to be in charge of this boat project that I had been right in telling him that I thought it daft to moor the boat with any sails attached at this stage!
Likewise the mooring.....it’s been a hairy place to moor due to some unprecedented tidal erosion. A couple of times the boat had ended up almost upright leaning against a ridge of sand....quite precarious. Luckily it’s now settled down and should stay there at a decent angle until the next high tides.
I get too involved.....I only originally volunteered to paint, varnish and tinker with the engine!
