I was very proud of this England team. They played their hearts out and showed some great team spirit. They got further than any England team since 1990, won a penalty shoot-out, and scored some good goals. Last night's game could have gone either way, and unfortunately it went Croatia's way.
With a sensible and decent manager in Gareth Southgate, and between this team and the younger players coming through who won the under 20 world cup last year, the prospects for Euro 2020 and the next world cup are very encouraging.
As to next season, Saints kick off with Burnley at home on 12th August
