Hi Stevey,
maybe the problem is very easy to solve. My 4/4 from 2014 had the same problem 2 weeks ago on our roundtrip to Austria.
From one moment to the other the break light stopped working. Because it is very dangerous to drive 800 Km without break lights,
I moved into the legroom to the pedals and removed the metal plate together with both switches on. Very easy, there are only 4 cable
and 2 screws to open. After checking the function of both switches, I realized that the switches has to loose the contact from the pedal
to flash the break lights. And that was my problem, the distance from the switches to the pedal where to small, so you have to press
the pedal to maximum way to open the switches. The very easy solving was to but a 2mm shims between the plate and the switchhousing
and everything works well now. Because of the shims the switch has now 2mm more way to open and the break light flashes on the very first
way of the pedal. So maybe you have the same problem and this could be solved in 30 minutes in every small garage or by yourself.
And this could also solve your problem with the switch for the fuel, which is the second switch on the plate
Regards from Germany and sorry for the german english :-)
