To all the people who ask if K7 will run on Coniston?
That's the plan, but in order to put that plan into action, the officers of the LDNPA and certain officers of Coniston PC should get behind the BBP.
To date, they have not been as helpful as one would like, insisting among other things that the BBP can not run Bluebird during the school holidays, either at Easter, Summer Half Term or in the main Summer holidays.
That is one example of their somewhat closed attitude. They state they have to consult with numerous ''stakeholders'', before they can properly engage - they appear to need a lot of box's to be ticked and committee's to agree things etc... The concept of lets 'Just Do It', i.e. work on a plan from a positive perspective and knock down each obstacle, does not seem to be in their lexicon.
The Isle of Bute has shown the way in what can be achieved, and the literally thousands of spectators, young and old have thrilled to watch Bluebird K7 back in action, safely but with access to the event.
Come on the Lake District. You can and surely must make this happen...

My agenda with regards to Bluebird and Coniston is as follows: I want Bluebird K7 to find a permanent home in the Ruskin Museum and be able to run on Coniston Water, under the management of the BBP, at a time when all ages get to see the spectacle. That probably means sometime during the school holidays during the period May - August. That is the limit of my agenda.
