Not so much about speed but acceleration in my opinion. Anything over 100 mph is scary in a Morgan 😳.
I don’t pretend to know anything about the workings of an ECU. All I know is that you can buy off the shelf ones to fit to say a 2 litre Duratec in a kit car and as well as run the engine it also provides feeds to instruments etc. I have no idea why you can’t just strip the ECU out of a Morgan and replace it with a new one. Ok, you might hit snags with immobilisers for example but nothing that can’t be worked around. Or am I being rather simplistic?
I can imagine that this is feasible, but direct injection is quite complicated. A control unit designed for the old Duratec will not make it.
