Interesting question.
Pros:
1. All year round driving with longer days in winter than we have further north
2. No salt on roads
3. Drier climate
Cons:
1.Lots of dust that will find its way into everything unless whole car kept covered
2.As you say, lots of cats but a tonneau cover as suggested should keep them at bay.
It looks like the pros outweigh the cons! However I think that getting it there and back might be the biggest issue. There must be someone on this site who has tried it?
