the older door such as my wood dash 99 4/4 is a pain to get open without the key. Chris444 I mounted a piece of wood in the glove box with a spring which bears on the back of the latch. Push the release button & the spring pops the door open about 10mm. See http://www.shirevillageinns.co.uk/mog/latch.jpgIan I did a similar thing, but as the lock was broken, i used a magnet to hold the door shut.
