Mine has front catches that require a real shove to release, the rears are a bit easier.
I am no lover of bonnet straps, but the P4SS turn buckles are rather attractive.
I wonder if one could buy them and retro-fit?
Other options are Dzus, Camloc and Airloc fasteners: all were first used on aircraft to secure cowlings and other often removed panels. Some even require a key to open them, adding some security.
