You could bypass the inertia switch for racing by putting a set of normally closed contacts of a switch across the 2 contacts of the inertia pair, you could then switch the new switch off (open) to enable the inertia switch for road use. Probably a pair of White with Purple tracer wires at the inertia switch if they have kept the same colour code as mine.
John several of the M3W boys and girls have made similar arrangements for road use it seems as they trip out for a pastime.
