Sorry I failed to answer Your second question. Yes I use a SPAL fan in front of My +8 Radiator. It works OK at slow speed (In traffic) but at 70 MPH pulling a long hill My +8 heats up. I must slow down to about 50 MPH to cure this. My theory is the Spal Fan in front acts like a air blocker at speed.

Is the area under the radiator blocked off? It's said that otherwise air pressure can build up in the engine compartment restricting air flow through the radiator.


NO! But it has been in the past and blocking under the rad is a good idea. Read Dwight Smith article on GOMOG.
