Hi there,
My name is Andy and I live in Worcestershire. I am new to the forum and new to Morgan. I have very recently purchased my first Morgan, a +4 built in 1999 with the Rover T16.
In the past I have owned a few cars worth mentioning on the forum which were 2 MG Midgets, an Austin Healey Sprite, 2 MGB GT, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed and upgraded, one of the great pleasures owning such a vehicle is that of being able to tinker about in the garage with them and go out driving just for the sake of driving pleasure. After the last GT I bought a TVR S3 with the Ford V6 which I loved but having always wanted a V8 rumble I sold it and bought an early Chimeara followed more recently by another and although they are fantastic and exhilarating to drive, nowadays it's not a car I could really use to anywhere near its capabilities without taking it to a track day, a car that always beckons you to go faster.
I have always wanted to own a Morgan but a tad out of reach financially, I looked at a 4/4 in 2014 from a private seller but when he opened the garage door I was expecting a gleaming shine on paint and bright work but was disappointed to see a dull unpolished red so walked away and spent my money on my other hobby a narrowboat.
Three weeks ago a lot of fuel was put on the Morgan ownership fire when I was given 2 tickets for a factory tour in payment for some work I did.
Really enjoyed the tour and 3 weeks later I own a Morgan and have not stopped smiling since.
In between paying a deposit and picking up the car I have read virtually every post in the maintenance and service section that I felt relevant and have gleaned so much info from the posts that were there all written by Talk Morgan members.
So it's hello from me and a big Thank you to you.
Looking forward to enjoying some quality tinkering and some driving out just for the pleasure of driving.
All the best
Andy.
