I too saw the clips last night and was very impressed with Peter Jackson who seemed to have a real empathy with the subject and the task he undertook so diligently. The difference the addition of colour has made to ones perception of the event is staggering. One can only imagine what further impact the Imperial War Museum / BBC documentary 'The Great War' would have had, had it been in colour. The same would have applied to the 'World at War' documentary covering the second World War.
Wow doesn't it bring the films to life and having sound albeit "dubbed" is brilliant.
I must admit watching anything about the First WW, absolutely kills me...they were all so innocent...brave brave lads and lasses.
