Your dash will be plastic Craig, I would very gently warm the area with a heat gun and then try the fishing line behind it.
Naa, its painted marine ply, seen 'em in the paint shop, that's why they match the body colour
Try MDF! The ply dashes are the base for the veneered ones.
Craig, an alternative to fishing line is dental floss......seriously! With some gentle heat it should come off easily leaving a bit of residue adhesive pad. A gentle rub with meths will get that off.
