I haven't found that to be the case.

I have several cars insured with Classicline and European breakdown and recovery is included as standard in their policy.

They're very competitive in my experience and also insure "modern classics"

Thanks, I confess that I haven't looked into it for over 15 years. The club used to have a deal with the RAC and I switched to Gott & Wynne's scheme when that went tits up. I only pay £170 for combined car and breakdown insurance so it's not seemed worth shopping around for alternatives.
