I used to have a TR3A and loved the car but rust killed it whenI was about 19. I would love another one but am afraid of rust. Can a good one be protected from rust these days.
Most have been rebuilt chassis up by now and modern materials will have been used in the process. My own car has had a new chassis and a few new body panels all well protected with cavity wax and other anti rust stuff and a much better finish than the factory ever did. It'll see me out at least. So I wouldn't let memories of rust problems stop anyone from having a classic now, just be certain the restoration has been done well, most have and TR's like Healeys have separate chassis so it's fairly easy to check.
