I remember watching a program where they showed someone making his own woodworking tools. His prices were>£1k for a basic hand plane. He also used wood joints like dovetails to join parts. VERY nice looking things but my Stanley does a good job. I currently have woodworking tools my grandfather used/made as well as Dad’s . All good stuff and the quality stands the test of time.
