My blue 1968 family Mercedes sedan is a 2.3 straight six with just 120 HP. But her genes come from the gullwing engine, with aluminum head already at that time. The sound is fantastic, really more beautiful than a V6. No V8 sound, but with its own charm and very very silky and rev willing.
I must honestly admit that the V8 in our old 450SL sometimes gets on my nerves. The bubbling can also be annoying on long distances.

A straight 6 BMW engine in the Morgan could be very interesting if it's not too expensive (and if you are allowed to drive in at least another 10 years).

I have to be quiet so that my beloved 4/4 doesn't hear that...and my wife better also doesn't hear or read it... shades
