We have blue skies here today too. This is the result of a strong Foehn wind that on the lake shore is gusting to 80 kph. Out on the lake it may be getting close to 100 kph (60 mph)and waves are running up to 1 metre high.

This is a wind that we get fairly often but this is unusually strong. It is a wind that comes down from the Swiss Alps to the north and as it descends it gains energy and heat. The temperature has risen from around zero to 13°C in a few hours and most of the snow from recent falls on the mountains has disappeared.

It seems that any chance of a white Christmas has gone with the wind.
