Presumably there is a metal chassis under the woodwork somewhere?
Might be heresy to classic M3W owners but I'd consider a different profile tail: the fat bum with spare just looks ugly to me. Arguably if you are providing new metalwork you are not "restoring" but "rebuilding" anyways...
