At the end of the day the fittings are absolute rubish. Half the time you can't get the screws back in. I had the insulating washer in one warp and sink back into the spring. That was what caused mine to fail. I managed to get it functioning in some way but then when I tried to get the lens back on it was impossible to get one of the screws in. Apparently this is a common problem.

I have been searching for a replacement LED lamp (to replace the while fitting) but they don't seem to be available in this size.
