it’s not necessarily fair to say a 7 isn’t any use for pottering around in, it just depends on the roads you want to use. I’ve had thousands of miles of country lanes in mine, with my son or daughter, and we cherish those memories. With it’s relatively high profile tyres, narrow beam and wheels right out at the corners, it actually offroads okay and can mount the verges with ease.
7s are also cheaper, by quite a margin when new, slightly less vulnerable to careless damage by others ( fibreglass wings and a blunt rear end) and take up a lot less room in a garage than a trad. Much the same as the 3 wheeler, you can step out of the cockpit and still be within the axle width.
But after all that, I think we all seem to agree, Morgan does it better!
We’re lucky here that we have empty roads and interesting countryside and villages to visit, busy traffic and boring main roads wouldn’t be any fun at all.
