What are these mirrors to which you refer. I don't think my mate can be aware of them and it would be nice to point him in the right direction. It is a legal requirement to have two mirrors on a vehicle registered from 1st June 1978, one must be an offside mirror. Penalty £50 and immediate prohibition. Keith, Being aware of your position in life, that is why I asked the question because when you remove the door/ side screens on a C7, you loose both of the mirrors. Caterham sell these 'arms' and describe them as 'SVA mirror mount kit' and charge the princely sum of £30.20 per mirror. It doesn't include the mirror head as this is taken off the mirror mounted to the sidescreen. There is a picture on their parts website. Frankly though, it should be cheaper and just as easy to find an offside mirror through one of the various suppliers like SVA or Holden etc. Thank you Paul, I will pass this info on.

it’s not necessarily fair to say a 7 isn’t any use for pottering around in, it just depends on the roads you want to use. I’ve had thousands of miles of country lanes in mine, with my son or daughter, and we cherish those memories. With it’s relatively high profile tyres, narrow beam and wheels right out at the corners, it actually offroads okay and can mount the verges with ease.
7s are also cheaper, by quite a margin when new, slightly less vulnerable to careless damage by others ( fibreglass wings and a blunt rear end) and take up a lot less room in a garage than a trad. Much the same as the 3 wheeler, you can step out of the cockpit and still be within the axle width.
But after all that, I think we all seem to agree, Morgan does it better!
We’re lucky here that we have empty roads and interesting countryside and villages to visit, busy traffic and boring main roads wouldn’t be any fun at all.

I didn’t know about the wing mirror being a legal requirement, I never use the doors so maybe I’ll need to look at fitting some, thanks from me too for pointing it out Paul.

That is a lot of touring in 10 years  Average 330 miles a year or 3,000 miles in the first 6 months and then sat in the garage for 9 years?

it's not as simple as racy versus relaxed though. Lotus and Caterham also get a pretty good ride with their low weight AND good suspension. Mog bedsteads only have light weight. As for handling, Mogs are pretty good on smooth roads but....
That green retro Caterham with 80hp a couple of years ago looked an interesting tourer. swmbo vetoed my plan...
