The crossing takes less than 15 minutes all told.
That is the last Turntable Ferry left still working (google them - there is an excellent book all about the different ferries over the years).

There is a small group of us (some are on here) who head up to Scotland most years. All started off by Tim in 2011 who suggested a bucket list thing was to do LeJoG. We have had other destinations - Northumberland one year. I don't go with them every year. Going with a small group of like minded individuals can add a little extra to one's trip.
