The other thing I forgot to mention is to watch the contact points between the bonnets and bulkhead, and cowl. Most will chafe somewhere and wear the paint through to the metal in no time.

This can also happen anywhere round the door aperture so needs watching. Paint protection film is the answer and this is an easy DIY fix.
