I’ve realised it’s extremely hard to extract the actual differences on tyres and cut through the marketing and the biased reviews but if the Michelin’s had been a similar price to the Avons I might have given them a go

A Mog weighing in at a metric tonne with no ABS or traction control etc is a bit different to a performance saloon so not only is it difficult to compare tyres on the same vehicle, you’ve also got the difference in weight and vehicle type

I don’t think there is any right or wrong answer or if there is it would take a genius and months of testing to work it all out

The one saving grace is that performance tyres are now of a high quality from every major manufacturer so if you make a duff call, they still keep you on the road and you can change them after a couple of years
