I have built wood epoxy boats, and if it's dry enough, it's all good. Any larvae in epoxy encapsulated wood will surely die from lack of oxygen.
Heat treatment would also dry it out - I hadn't even thought about that, which is pretty stupid of me, considering most commercial wood these days are kiln dried.
