Also I'm concerned that they've changed the engine supplier very late in the day and how much testing they've done with the new engine fitted.
I would doubt there are more than a handful of these S&S engines in use as opposed to 1000's of Harley Davidsons and personally if I thought the HD engine was available next year I would seriously consider my options.
I don't think I'll let that dictate much. Because in the end, the waiting list is already long, and if I wait another year before placing an order it will take way too long to get one.
But all else equal (torque, stability, vibration etc.) I'd prefer a H-D engine for the very reason that I'm buying it to be used for touring, and it would be easier to find spare parts for the H-D engine while out and about.
To further confuse matters, S&S are an excellent company with a good reputation and their engine may turn out to be better than the HD. Vibration would still concern me though. Why not ask Morgan these questions ?
I agree. Someone with the inside track should ask them.
