Sad to hear of crash. Regarding the Red? Lion Inn we visited there June 2017 during the M3W Goggles and Gauntlets tour of t'north Yorkshire as organised by Ian & Maria Parkinson. We piled in the busy pub late lunchtime and we're all found tables and served good food in short order.
So impressed, Val and I created our own highest pubs tour later that year. Spent a couple of nights at the Tan Hill Inn (1732 ft asl and highest in UK) and another couple at the Lion Inn (1312 ft asl). Brewery trip to Theakston's in Masham continued the theme
