This thread makes me feel an old git too, I am thankful for learning my early driving on NZ gravel roads in vivas beetles and Morrie thous heaps of fun without 'danger of death' , cross ply tyres and low power followed by a good measure of two wheeled transport drives a certain respect for the conditions that I don't know how new drivers will gain without some of the courses or track days mentioned above. The current cars are so capable that by the time someone loses it the consequences are serious not just a ' hope mum doesn't notice that scratch'.
