Uncle Melvin, plain wood to match the dash. I'd be worried about you if you need to view a gear pattern to know what gear your in  Its when you have several cars that dont get driven every day so its just useful to have a reminder where reverse is. I'd have laughed at this suggestion... If only I hadn't selected LU (like on all my other manual cars - apart from the minis which are just weird) instead of RD to when borrowing my daughter's Alfa to go to the gym earlier today. Got on the brake with an inch to spare to the large zinc planter in front of the car. That would have been embarrassing...
