Gareth the Coupe currently has steering that feels heavy, non self centring, treacle. This is because the lower ball joints are worn out (at 32K) and need replacement. If you put the car up so the wheel is floating it rocks visibly with little effort. Hand to top and bottom of wheel, pull top out of arch and in towards engine/rad. Just in case this helps you identify yours.

I agree the increased pressure will reduce contact patch and stiffen sidewall which should reduce load but as outlined it could mean to small a contact patch.

The repair went sideways due to parts etc so I have to wait.
