I replaced my right hand headlight unit which comes with wiring and connectors attached. To do so I had to disconnect the indicator connector under the front cover to be able to pull all the cables through the flexible cable cover. It wasn't a big deal if you take your time about it. The tricky part initially was getting the connectors off the end of the cables, you need a set of those watchmaker screwdrivers to spring the retainer inside the connector. Then the wires will pull free and you're off and running. You will need to loosen the headlight and pull the flexible cable cover out of its 'p' clips to pull cables through, but it went back in again after with no problem. Once reassembled you would never know its been touched. It took me about 2.5 hours, but once you've done it the once its easy. No soldering or cutting was required.
