The pipe feeding through the nearside rear wheel arch to the fuel system charcoal canister on my aero has been worn through by the tyre at the 90 degree elbow. Probably the result of a session on the Millbrook skid pan, lots of driving round in circles trying to provoke under / oversteer and petrol smelt towards the end, on right hand turns. The car seems to run perfectly well with the perforated pipe, with some 300 miles of fast rural roads being driven on the following day.
For info, the car was supplied on Aeromax 19" alloys with 35 profile tyres, whereas the OEM fitting is 18" 40 profile alloys. Would this possibly give a larger overall diameter tyre, I wonder?
I am waiting to hear if the elbow section of pipe is available separately or if the whole pipe is required.
I wonder if anyone else on here had a similar problem this?
