This route (mapped in orange) shows the route we took to the Long Mynd and back to Cosford from Ironbridge. The glider club is on the Long Mynd just before dropping down the steep hill to Asterton.


The map with the route marked in green is one of the those taken on a Long Mountain Run.


This route varies annually and if you have an Ordnance Survey map of the area there are plenty of small lane route alternatives.
We normally stay at the Inn on the Green at Wentnor which is a good pub with some rooms. The routes normally taken include The Long Mynd, the Long Mountain and The Bog (Stiperstones) where there is a café that we usually stop off at.

All the area is good for touring, even south of Bishops Castle and Clun. The main Long Mynd town is Church Stretton where you will find a tourist information centre for the area.
