Thanks Iain and Richard for sharing the article and the clip. Yes it is astonishing if one sees the development during this only 50 years until 1969.
Although the basic structure was already developed until 1969, some things have evolved until today: materials, engines, digitization, etc. But it is rather a fine tuning not a real revolution. Even if a flightdeck of a 707 of 1962 is nothing more comparable with a cockpit of today.
But I think back then it was innovatively developed and invented and today it is rather refinements where the goals are given by the marketing.
