Would be interested to hear more about this project. Did you make the new panels easily removable?
not a big story , this (original) plastic part was broken, especially at the mounting holes and a crack in the middle.
I don't know what the pre-owner has done there , my dealer said 60€ and 6 weeks for delivery...
So I ordered some flat aluminium sheets in different thickness (at the end I used the 1mm sheets) , and a leather bag , to be filled with filled with dry sand.
After checking some youtube video's explaining how to hammer an aluminium body from a flat alu sheet ,
I tried to rebuild the form of the plastik part in Aluminium.
It tooks some tíme but at the end it works. OK.. the finish of the surface is not really perfect :-))) (nobody cares about that on that place) but it fits to the original mountings and ist much more durable than the plastic part.
To avoid vibrations I glued some
Alubutyl insultating mate, to the side heading to the drive train.
To be honest , to reach the mounting points behind the pedal box ( - from drivers view) was a really hard job ....
