Installed the Fairbourne after both stock plexiglass screens cracked through.
Because it covers more area, width and height, it deflects more air upward at speed. That, in turn, creates more of a vacuum force in the cockpit causing more dust, debris, bugs and leaves to get pulled in from the front end as well as the rear.
I was pulling my hair in frustration trying to figure out where all this crap was coming from as the roads are relatively clean right now. Needless to say, as much as I can recommend these wind screens, I can also recommend a complete change of clothing after a longish drive. Wearing a dust mask may be advisable for those affected.
...and if your lovely comes out all dressed up in whites turn her around and please ask her to change into something more suitable for gardening!
I too have noticed debris in the cockpit. The debris under the bonnet is also noticeable so I now understand why Emil at Custom Morgan made the boot for the steering column.
It also explains the hot air i feel in the cockpit on a warm day.
What is the best method of cleaning the plexiglass or lexan, whatever the material, of the wind screens?
