Thanks for the suggestion Phil. My main goal in swapping the headlamps was to draw less current on the charging circuit so I could put dedicated driving lamps and fog lamps up front and I would not be overloading the circuits and in particular the generator/alternator that is built into a space that takes an act of god to get to. if something should go wrong.
BTW, the back of the lamps, the fins, do not contact the bucket. I am sure it has something to do with the thickness of the outer lip the the lamps.
