I have made these very light bonnet stays for 5£ in one hour.

Made of anodized aluminium tubes of 8mm diameter.

Fixing at the protruding bonnet knob.

The end holds without any additional constructions.

The clue – inserted neodyme magnet (with a drop of glue) of 2.1kg power and coaxial magnetization (the magnetic poles are not at the ends, but by side) holds the stays reliable in its place.

The other end is a simple stainless M4 screw vith nylon washers to avoid rattling. The hole for the bolt is threaded, so the tension of the nylon washers can be better adjusted.

For the windy days – a bit primitive, but the rubbers are anyway in the car, holding the wrapped tools.
