Quick update guys:
So it quite a job to get the circuit board out, but once out I did a quick check with a multimeter only to find no faults. So I re-soldered the joints either side of the LED and re-tested. Works perfectly, so nothing more than a dry joint.
All back together now and every thing back to normal.
