but I think the lack of heat shields would be a significant concern.
I'm running a stainless straight through muffler at the moment and the surface temperature of the 4" muffler body is about 120F at the end of a long run, measured with an infrared temp gun. So hot enough you don't want to hang on to it, but not hot enough for a burn with momentary contact.
