My Plus 4 was specced by the dealer and they chose the option of a hood cover over a tonneau cover. Personally I would have gone for the latter as I find them useful for keeping the warmth in for winter driving and also to quickly cover up the interior when parked up.

Over the past few weeks I contacted several trimmers and companies trying to find someone to make and fit me a cover but the responses ranged from no response at all to come back next year and when I did get a reply it usually meant my car being with them for a week or more.

I then contacted the service dept at MMC and found them extremely helpful and willing to fit me in at short notice. They called me back when promised and provided accurate prices, something others seemed unable to do.

So today I took it in to them and waited while they fitted a new 3 zip cover in mohair. The wait was enjoyable as it gave me a chance to catch up with SBM, Wirewheel and Graham. I also had the 'sports' ECU flash done at the same time. As a bonus I managed to scrounge a piece of scrap aluminium sheet ( it was an off cut from a plus 6) which this afternoon I made into a heat shield for the cat.

All in all a successful day, the flash has smoothed things out considerably, it feels more lively and I have a rock steady idle where before it would fluctuate a little. I already had the rear half of the aero sports exhaust fitted as one of the other 110 th options and was thinking about having the manifold done at some point. FIrst impressions are that I may not need to bother.

So great job MMC, I am impressed by the great service!
