Ah! On my car if the headlights or sidelights are on and the ignition key is removed the sidelights (in this case perhaps parking lights) stay on. Apparently normal for a Duratec Plus 4 and I imagine most trad Morgans that use the same indicator/light switch and and Multi Function Unit.

This has led to a flat battery on two occasions and the car is now fitted with a beeper to let me know that the lights are on if the ignition is off, and hence a reminder to turn the lights off. I wanted a cut out relay but Borghi felt that the beeper was the easiest solution, though I might re-visit this on the next service.

I am more accustomed to systems that turn all lights off when the key is removed and find it a hard habit to break when I always drive with lights on.
