Not sure about 'fairly common', I've only ever seen photographs of two cars with it on a couple of tyres. I've been using these tyres since 2013 having bought 9 so far, and none of them have had the issue.


Probably they've now solved the problem. It was certainly "fairly common" some years back which is why I mentioned it. I have personal experience, as do friends of mine.
