Similar happened to me, a colleague and I had identical spec’d BMWs but because they were in very short supply we had limited choice of colour unless we wanted to wait an age, his was in dark blue and mine was in pubta green (very close to British racing green). He really abused his, hardly ever cleaned it and put a lot more miles on the clock whereas I treasured mine and took good care of it. When it came to selling them he sold his instantly and for more whereas mine took a while to sell, purely down to the colour. Lesson learnt and I always choose a colour that isn’t too “out there” now.
