Cash of over £10,000 could be difficult to bank due to money laundering regulations.
Make sure the documentation is all correct, correct export paperwork. And you have his details, business address etc. And proof of export.
Otherwise follow advice above regarding cash, bankers drafts etc.
The usual scams are selling cars at undervalue, I have not heard of any when buying.
