This would have to be my favourite tool. I have used and abused it for years. More than an adjustable Spanner it is almost a little portable vice, even a small hammer
I have used it not only in the obvious way but also with the tip of the jaws into a restricted space, even the back part of the jaws can be used if required. It is 6 inches long and has a maximum opening of about 1 1/2 inches though the maximum practical opening is probably about 1 inch.

Proudly stamped (BRITISH MADE), why enclosed in brackets I can not imagine. Other than various numbers, probably relating to identification, part numbers or somesuch, it has no maker's brand on it. I suspect it may have originally been part of a car tool kit but it may also have been for military use.
