Nippymog I'm not sure what I'm looking at but in IMG0816 the casting top centre looks to be cracked.
Pretty sure what you are seeing is casting flash, not cracks. Those threaded holes which are visible in the alloy gearbox case are not used in the M3W install and should have not load on them, and therefore no real possibility of cracking.
